Stephen Curry Injury: Warriors superstar’s tweaked ankle raises concern ahead of MLK Day showdown against Celtics

Golden State Warriors extended their winning run and recorded their second straight win by defeating Washington Wizards 122-114 on Saturday, January 18. The Warriors were coming on the back of a close-contested affair against the Timberwolves on Wednesday, where they registered a 116-115 win.

During the game, Warriors hero Stephen Curry scored 26 points and had six assists and five rebounds. However, the 36-year-old couldn’t pull it through the last minute before a tweaked ankle forced him to walk off the court. Curry was tangled with Wizards’ Jordan Poole and was down on the court, before he limped off to the dressing room with 1:05 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Steph’s injury came as a big blow for the Warriors, particularly after Draymond Green was ruled out due to a sore calf after playing for just nine minutes. Green had returned to the lineup after missing three games.

Feels great, see you on Monday: Stephen Curry shares update on injury

After the Warriors clinched second straight win, Curry was asked about the extent of his injury but the veteran guard clarified that he is feeling well and will be available for Warrior’s crucial clash against defending champions Boston Celtics.

“Feels great. See you on Monday,” Curry told the reporters after the game.
