“My beef is not with them” – Jimmy Butler reacts to team rift rumours

In his return game, Butler added 18 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists against the Denver Nuggets.

Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler returned to the lineup during the clash against the Denver Nuggets after serving a seven-game suspension. Butler was dropped earlier for his “conduct detrimental to the team.” However, his return couldn’t secure Heat a win as they went down 133-113 to the Denver Nuggets. The 6-foot-7 forward contributed 18 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists in a total of 33 minutes.

As Butler appeared in the lineup for the first time, not everyone seemed to be excited. The rumors of things not being right between Butler and his teammates are all over the place. However, the 35-year-old addressed the rumors and said that he doesn’t have “a problem with these guys.”

Speaking in the post-game interview, Butler said, “It felt good to get out there, compete, and actually run around with these guys.

“As much as everybody may think, I don’t got a problem with these guys. These guys are cool. They’re my friends. My beef is not with them, never will be, and never has been,” he added.

Apart from his suspension, Butler has been in talks regarding the trade rumors. While announcing the seven-game ban, the Heat initially said that they would listen to trade offers for the six-time NBA All-Star. However, two weeks later, the veteran still finds himself back in the same situation.

Talking about the rumors, he said, “It was a lot said by everybody, except for me, to tell you the truth. So we’ll let people keep talking like they know everything, like they have all the answers, and then sooner or later the whole truth will come out.”

“But until then, we’ll continue to let people talk, and if I’m here, I will get out there and play,” the Texas-born added.
