Jimmy Butler featured in the starting lineup for Miami Heat after serving a 7-game suspension on Friday, January 17, in the home game against the Denver Nuggets. However, his return didn’t yield any positive outcome as Nugget outclassed the Heat 133-113, handing them their third straight defeat.

The game saw the three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic score 24 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists to help the Nuggets put on 133. Jokic played for a total of 30 minutes and converted 100% from the free-throw line.

While Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra showed his confidence in Butler’s return, the game night didn’t turn out to be too interesting as the Nuggets recorded a 20-point win against the home favorites. From being handed a seven-game suspension, to the rumors of him making a potential move to Phoenix Suns, Butler’s life has been pretty interesting lately.

During his return game, Butler contributed 18 points in Miami’s 20-point loss. Tyler Herro contributed 22 points, but it all went into vain as Heat extended their losing streak.

Ahead of the game, Butler had announced his return with Michael Jordan’s famous statement, “I’m back.” In his first game since January 2, he recorded 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, 0-of-2 shooting on threes and 4-of-4 from the foul line.

The 6-foot-7 forward had three rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes. During the third quarter of the game, Butler added 10 points with 4-of-8 shooting from the field.
