Butler has spent six seasons with Miami Heat and the long journey is coming to an end.

Six-time NBA All-Star forward Jimmy Butler has faced a seven-game suspension from the Miami Heat on Friday for “conduct detrimental” to the team. Miami Heat issued a statement and the 35-year-old forward will be missing the NBA action for the next seven games including the home game against Utah Jazz and a six-game West-Coast road trip.

Jimmy Butler faced the consequences after saying he had lost the joy of playing in the NBA and asking for a trade from Miami. “I want to see me getting my joy back playing basketball. Wherever that may be, we’ll find out here pretty soon,” Butler said Thursday.

Miami Heat issued a statement ahead of the home game against Jazz which reads, “We have suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season and particularly the last several weeks.”

“Through his actions and statements, he has shown he no longer wants to be part of this team. Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated that they wish to be traded, therefore, we will listen to offers.”

Jimmy Butler last played against Indiana in a loss and scored just nine points. The 35-year-old would not return until a January 17 home game against Denver. Miami Heat will now listen to offers for their star player.

“I want to get my joy back. I’m happy here off the court, but I want to be back to somewhat dominant, I want to hoop and I want to help this team win. Right now, I’m not doing that, Jimmy Butler said. When asked if he could regain his joy on the court with Miami Heat, he replied “probably not.”

How much the suspension will cost Six-time NBA All-Star?

Jimmy Butler will be out for action for seven games which would be a costly suspension for Jimmy Butler, who is making almost $50 million in salary. As per ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Miami forward will lose $346,543 per game missed for a total of $2.35 million, or just 1/145 of his salary.

Butler has spent six seasons with Miami Heat and the long journey is coming to an end. The 35-year-old is averaging 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season.
