Draymond Green Injury: Warriors star exits game against Wizards with calf tightness

Golden State Warriors star, Draymond Green made his return to Steve Kerr’s starting lineups after missing out three games. However, the 34-year-old didn’t last long and sustained an injury during the NBA game at Chase Center.

Draymond Green left the court on his return against the Washington Wizards on Saturday. He played for just nine minutes and rushed to the Warriors’ locker room after a sideline conversation with director of sports medicine and performance Rick Celebrini.

The Warriors ruled Green out of the game shortly after with left calf tightness. His absence didn’t hurt the Warriors as they overcame Wizards in a close encounter to win second straight game.

Draymond Green missed Golden State Warriors’ game against the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 10 with a back injury. He later missed two more games against the Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves with an illness.

This is not the first calf injury, as the 34-year-old dealt with the same injury in early December. The four-time NBA All-Star had an obvious limp on the court before coming out of the game. He grabbed one rebound while missing his one-shot attempt in three minutes of play.

If Draymond Green goes out for an extended period, Steve Kerr’s side will be shorthanded again. Jonathan Kuminga is already sidelined due to ankle injury and guard Brandin Podziemski has been out with an abdominal injury.

Golden State Warriors will face Boston Celtics on Monday afternoon as the first of four games next week.
