Wil Lutz trolls Saints after getting booed during Broncos-Saints TNF game

Charles Taudin

Wil Lutz is pretty sure : those boos weren't not for him

Broncos’ Kicker, Wil Lutz, was back at the Superdome for the first time since he left for the Broncos. This Thursday night, Broncos routed Saints 33 to 10 for a 5 straight loss for New-Orleans.

In the stands, it seemed that Wil Lutz was booed by fans but the kicker trolled Saints on social media probably targeting Saints’ head coach Dennis Allen.

What is happening to the Saints ?

After one of the hottest start of the season, scoring 91 points in the first to games, the Saints literally stopped playing at the same level. In the next 5 games, they scored only 86 and held three times under 300 yards.

One response could be having Derek Carr sidelined because of an injury and replace by rookie Spencer Ratler. But Ratler has done some pretty good job during his short tenure, especially against the Buccaneers in the first half.

But unfortunately for him, the Saints’ defense might be the biggest issue.

Since their 2-0 start, the Broncos defense is :

  • 32nd in the NFL in yards allowed per game (443.6 yards)
  • 30th in points allowed per game (30.2 points)
  • 22nd in EPA per play (-0.05 EPA)

Their running defense is also on of the worst in the entire NFL at the moment. But the defensive background of Dennis Allen should have provided the foundation of something strong for the season.

What’s next for the Saints ?

In week 8, The Saints will go to the SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Chargers and try to stop that 5 games losing skid.
