Why Did Rampage Jackson’s Son Raja Jackson Beat A Pro-Wrestler Senseless?

Zaid Quraishi

Some names in combat sports carry serious weight, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is definitely one of them. The former UFC light heavyweight champion built his reputation through explosive knockouts and memorable performances inside the octagon. His son Raja grew up around this world of professional fighting, probably learning techniques and attitudes from watching his father compete at the highest level. But having a famous fighter as your dad doesn’t automatically teach you the discipline and control that separates professional athletes from street brawlers. That lesson became crystal clear during a shocking incident at a recent wrestling event.

What should have been a simple wrestling exhibition turned into a brutal assault that left everyone watching in horror. Raja Jackson appeared at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles, where things went terribly wrong in front of live cameras and streaming audiences. Instead of following the choreographed script that professional wrestling requires, Raja unleashed a vicious attack on wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith that crossed every line imaginable. The video footage shows Raja continuing to pummel an unconscious opponent. This created a scene that no father wants to see their child involved in, especially when it’s broadcast for the world to witness.

What Really Happened Inside That Wrestling Ring

The incident at KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy shocked everyone who witnessed it, including the veteran wrestlers who tried to intervene. Raja entered the ring and lifted Syko Stu above his head before slamming him hard onto the mat with devastating force. That move alone would have been enough to end most wrestling matches. But the younger Jackson didn’t stop there. He proceeded to punch the fallen wrestler repeatedly in the head (over 20 times) while Syko lay motionless and defenseless on the canvas. Other wrestlers finally stepped in to pull Raja away, but the damage was already done.

KnokX Pro Entertainment later revealed that this was supposed to be a planned wrestling spot that both men had agreed to beforehand. Professional wrestling relies on trust between performers who work together to create entertaining matches while keeping everyone safe. Jackson completely violated that trust by turning what should have been choreographed entertainment into real violence.. Syko Stu ended up hospitalized with serious injuries from an attack that should never have escalated beyond scripted wrestling moves.

Rampage Jackson’s Response And The Backstory

Rampage Jackson quickly stepped forward to address the situation and defend his son while also condemning the violence. The former UFC champion explained that Syko Stu had apparently punched Raja in the side of the head before the wrestling event took place. According to the older Jackson, his son was told he could get his “payback” during the wrestling match, which the father assumed was part of the planned entertainment.

“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!“

Rampage Jackson made it clear that he doesn’t condone his son’s actions at all. However, he added another troubling detail to the story. Raja had suffered a concussion just days before the wrestling event and had no business participating in any physical contact whatsoever.

“He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened. But my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”

This revelation makes Raja’s participation even more reckless, as anyone with recent head trauma should avoid situations that could worsen their condition. Rampage concluded his statement by praying for Syko Stu’s recovery and apologizing to everyone involved in the incident.

Who Is Syko Stu And What Is His Backstory?

Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith isn’t just another professional wrestler trying to make a name for himself in the entertainment business. The man Raja attacked is a former army veteran who battles PTSD from his military service. He uses professional wrestling as a therapeutic outlet to cope with his mental health struggles. Many veterans find that physical activities and performance arts help them process trauma and build connections with supportive communities. Wrestling gave Syko Stu a way to channel his experiences into something positive. All while entertaining audiences who appreciated his dedication to the craft.

This context makes Raja’s attack even more disturbing. He brutalized someone who was using wrestling to heal from invisible wounds that many people never fully understand. Veterans with PTSD often struggle with trust and feeling safe in social situations. Raja Jackson’s actions didn’t just hospitalize another person. They violated a sacred space where a combat veteran was trying to rebuild his life through performance art.
