Alpine's Formula 1 campaign in 2025 will fall under the lead of Pierre Gasly with their new driver lineup.
Alpine were among the most improved teams during the 2024 Formula 1 season. The French outfit has decided to opt for an all French driver lineup in 2023. The pair of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon was initially considered as a great addition to the team. However, with the 2024 season, it was clear that things were not quite stable for Alpine. Ocon and Gasly were crashing frequently, losing much needed points for Alpine. Ocon’s clash with Gasly in Monaco even caused him to earn a penalty.
The situation was grim for Alpine and they decided to choose Pierre Gasly as their preferred driver instead of Ocon releasing him after the 2024 season. Just when everything was seemingly over, Alpine’s drivers managed to get redemption with a double podium.
Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished second and third respectively at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Their double podium was Alpine’s first. It also gave a much-needed boost to the team, courtesy to which Alpine finished sixth in the constructor standings.
Pierre Gasly (#10) and Jack Doohan (#7) will be spearheading Alpine’s 2025 operations. Gasly is among the experienced drivers of the new generations. He has raced for Red Bull and Toro Rosso previously. Gasly also has one victory and multiple podiums to his name giving the team the depth of experience needed to keep their progress moving forward. Jack Doohan is going to be the rookie gamble from Alpine. He is the son of former MotoGP driver Mick Doohan.

Alpine’s choice seems to be preferring Gasly as their first driver. The French outfit will have to rely on his race winning experience in order to better their standings. On the other hand, Doohan will be asked to learn from Gasly. It should be known that Alpine seems to have a good driver lineup in their Junior Programme. They could not secure Oscar Piastri due to the contract disagreement fiasco. But considering the explosive performance of Oscar Piastri, we can assume that Doohan might be of the same caliber.

What are your predictions for Alpine’s 2025 Formula 1 season?
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
