Who is Daniel Dubois’ father?

Daniel Dubois’ father is Dave Dubois (born Stan). In the 1980s, he hustled on the streets of New York, flying from London to Harlem every other week with a suitcase full of Caribbean and African posters. “In one trip, Dubois made a million dollars,” Daniel once said of his father’s early grind. Back home, Dave sold goods in Camden Market.

But when Daniel was nine, Dave took him to a South London gym. Not for fame or fortune, but for character. “By the age of ten, Daniel could do push-ups for hours,” Dave recalled, as per The Sun. Is Daniel Dubois’ father his boxing coach?

Officially, no. That job belongs to Don Charles, but Daniel’s corner tells a deeper story. In a 2023 fight against Jarrell Miller, promoter Frank Warren noticed something: “Dubois kept looking into the crowd for his dad.” That’s when Warren acted. “I went and pulled him out the crowd,” he said. “That’s the voice he listens to.”

In 2020, Daniel told The Guardian, “He’s a legendary man, and I’m grateful he’s been in my life from day one. He’s in charge of most things, but with boxing, he wants me to be the boss because I’m the one taking the licks.”
