UFC President Dana White has confirmed that his team is actively working on a proposal to host a UFC event on the grounds of the White House on July 4, 2026. A move sparked by U.S. President Donald Trump’s public suggestion during a recent speech. While Trump’s fandom of the sport is no secret, the notion of bringing cage fighting to the lawn of the most secure residence in the country has now progressed beyond casual talk.

Blueprints & Backchannels: UFC’s White House Fight Night Plan

White revealed the behind-the-scenes progress during an appearance on The Full Send Podcast, sharing that planning has already begun. “My team already went and walked the White House,” he said. “We did all the logistics, and we’re putting together sort of the layout for it right now, and probably going to pitch it to him in the next week or two.”

Trump, who attended recent UFC pay-per-views in Newark and Miami, reportedly tasked his daughter Ivanka Trump with moving the idea forward. White has since been working closely with her and UFC head of production Craig Borsari to map out the concept. “Me, Craig Borsari, my head of production, and Ivanka will all go pitch it to him,” he added.

According to White, the vision is rooted in making the White House more accessible to the American public, something Trump has been vocal about. “He’s got this thing, and I think it’s awesome, where he wants the American people to enjoy the White House,” White said. “This is our place… He loves the sport, so he wants to do a UFC event there, and why would we say no to that?”

The Hurdles Behind the Hype

The proposed site is the Ellipse, a 52-acre expanse between the White House and the Washington Monument. Hosting a fight night there would mean navigating massive logistical and security challenges.

“There’s tons of challenges,” White acknowledged. “First of all, I don’t know how many people can get in. Not to mention the fact that Secret Service isn’t gonna let a lot of people come to this. Everybody’s gonna have to have background checks.”

Still, the UFC president is undeterred by the hurdles. “While the fight’s happening and we’re filming, one whole side of the backdrop will be the White House, and the other side will be the Washington Monument. It’s so unique, so badass, and so ‘once ever.’”

The event would be invitation-only, with comped tickets and no live gate. As for the lineup, White already has a dream headliner in mind. “We will absolutely positively put on the baddest card of all time,” he said. A year may bring plenty of change, but interest is already brewing, especially with names like Conor McGregor expressing a desire to be involved in the historic night.
