LSU Tigers star Aneesah Morrow was selected by the Connecticut Sun in the first round as the seventh overall pick at the 2025 WNBA draft. She was known as one of the most dynamic stars in collegiate basketball. Born on February 2, 2003, Morrow began her collegiate career in the 2021-22 season with DePaul and became the fifth player in NCAA women’s basketball history to record over 20 consecutive double-doubles in a season. Morrow averaged 21.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in her freshman season and was named Big East Freshman of the Year.

She became the first All-American in program history. In her sophomore season, she was one of the top forwards in women’s basketball and finished with an average of 25.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. Not only this, but Morrow was also a finalist for the Katrina McClain Award.

She was transferred to LSU and helped her side finish second in the SEC regular season with a 13-3 record and advanced to the finals of the 2024 SEC women’s basketball tournament. With her in the lineup, LSU booked the third seed in Morrow’s first NCAA Tournament. Morrow recorded her 90th career double-double in her senior year. In addition, she also became the eighth player in NCAA history to have 2,500 career points and 1,500 career rebounds.

After she finished the 2024-25 season with an average of 18.7 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, Morrow was named the Katrina McClain Award winner. She finished her collegiate career with a total of 2,852 points, and 1,714 rebounds, which is the third most rebounds in NCAA Division I history.
