The noise around the 2025 WNBA Draft is bigger than ever as big names from the NCAA are making their way. Big names like Paige Bueckers, Kiki Iriafen, Aneesah Morrow, and Hailey Van Lith will all be up for selection for the WNBA teams. UConn Huskies’ Paige Bueckers is slated to come up as the first draft pick. And it remains to be seen if Bueckers can attract eyeballs like Caitlin Clark managed to during the 2024 WNBA Draft.
But let’s first get into all the details about the 2025 WNBA Draft.
The upcoming WNBA draft is slated to have three rounds with around 45 minutes allotted for each round. The event is likely to go for three hours with 13 teams desperate to add top college talent to their respective rosters. The fans will be eagerly waiting for the first round as top stars are set to be presented in the first part of the event.
The first round of the draft will have 12 players coming in, while the second and third rounds will have 13 players each. The first round was supposed to have 13 picks, but the Las Vegas Aces will not carry a first-round pick. The league decided to penalize the franchise by stripping its first-round pick for violating league rules regarding player benefits.

Interestingly, the first draft pick was won by the Dallas Wings. And they have an open field to pick the talk of the town – Paige Bueckers. While the Seattle Storm have been allotted a second draft pick. The Washington Mystics have the biggest opportunity among the other WNBA teams to improve their roster, as the third and fourth picks are both with them.
The 2025 WNBA Draft will be broadcast live on ESPN. Fans can also catch live action through streaming from ESPN+ and Fubo.
