After the UConn Huskies rolled past the Gamecocks to win the 2025 NCAA Championship title in the women’s division, action will shift to Alamodome, Alabama for the grand finale of the men’s division. The Houston Cougars will be up against the Florida Gators in the final game of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Monday, April 7.

This is the third time the Cougars have booked a finale trip, and the first since losing the last two in 1983 and 1984. They fell to NC State and Georgetown, and still remain without a national championship. On the other hand, the Gators secured a final date for the first time since their back-to-back wins in 2006 and 2007. They made their first appearance in 2000 and are set to play their fourth final overall.

In the Final Four Round, where all four first seeds clashed for only the second time in the history, both Gators and the Cougars secured comeback wins to advance to the final round. Walter Clayton Jr.’s 34-point game helped Florida to get past Auburn 79-73. On the other hand, the Cougars made one of the most incredible comebacks from a 14-point deficit to take down the Duke Blue Devils 70-67.
