Alijah Martin, a Florida Gators’ graduate guard, earned the 39th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. Martin, who began his career with North Pike High School in Summit, Mississippi, previously played for the Florida Atlantic Owls. Basketball was never the first and only option for Martin, and he was a multisport-athlete in high school. Before the season he committed to Florida Atlantic University, the 23-year-old averaged 25.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game.

In his freshman season at Owls, played a total 21 games and averaged 13.9 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Martin recorded 13.4 ppg in the next season, and 13.1ppg in the final season. On the basis of his performance in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, the 23-year-old was named in the 2023 NCAA All-Tournament Team. In his senior year, he tallied 56 steals, and started 30 of his 34 games.

His decision to transfer to the University of Florida came in April 2024. In his sole season with them, the Summit-born recorded an average of 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. Not only this, but he is also an All-State pick in football, and threw for 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns and running for 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns. His efficiency in multiple sports comes from the fact that he was born in a family of athletes.
