Alex Pereira is arguably the biggest star in the UFC today. He is one of the most well known personalities across the globe and everybody knows about his skills as a fighter. He is 12-2-0 overall in his MMA career and has fought in 10 UFC fights so far. He’s only lost one fight in the UFC and has fought against some of the toughest and the biggest names such as Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, Jiří Procházka, and Jamahal Hill to name a few.

Poatan has worked hard to get to the top and he even stated earlier in his life, he could not afford to buy diapers for his kids. Now Pereira has a huge list of supercars and his net worth is estimated to be $4 million. It is not known what Alex Pereira’s religion is at the moment. While various reports from across the internet suggests that Poatan converted to Islam a while back, there are also reports that he was praying as to Jesus. Pereira is a man full of mysteries and there are a lot of things that are still not known about him.

Alex Pereira’s Ethnicity and Tribe

Pereira has indigenous ancestry from the Pataxo Tribe. The Pataxo tribe are indigenous to Bahia, Brazil. It is also reported that the Pataxo formerly spoke Pataxo language but now speak Portuguese and an altered version of the Pataxo language known as Patxoha. Even though Pereira is nicknamed “Poatan,” which means Stone hands in tupi language, it is not the native language of his tribe Pataxo.

The Tupi language was spoken by indigenous Tupi people who typically lived in South and Southeast Brazil.
