Jusuf Nuric and Naji Marshall got involved in a fight after the former was called for an offensive foul while being guarded by Daniel Gafford during the third quarter of the game. Both players exchanged punches and officials rushed to stop the fight. Jusuf Nuric and Naji Marshall faced ejection alongside PJ Washington, who pushed Nurkic to the ground. Dallas Mavericks went on to win 98-89.
NBA handed a fine for all three players including the suspension. ESPN’s Booby Marks has shared the suspension amount. Dallas Mavericks star, Naji Marshall has been fined for $236,452 for four games. His teammate, PJ Washington will be fined for $89,080 for one game. Meanwhile, Suns center, Jusuf Nurkic will pay a fine of $375K for three games.
The NBA issued a statement, “Marshall and Nurkic then engaged in an on-court altercation. Nurkic escalated it by swinging his arm and striking Marshall on top of his head. Marshall responded by throwing a punch that connected with Nurkic’s face.”

“Throw that s*** under the rug. Excuse my language. Maybe that's just the way we end 2024 where somebody actually swings in the NBA. Maybe that will help our ratings.” pic.twitter.com/wjWmWlMLPB
The total combined fine for both Mavericks stars is $325,532. The amount won’t trouble Irving as the one-time NBA Champion is earning over $41 million this season, thanks to his $126 million contract with the Mavericks. His salary is much higher than Washington ($15.5 million) and Marshall ($8.6 million).
