Investigation starts as Luka Doncic’s home in Dallas burglarized with $30,000 worth of jewelry stolen

Professional players are often targeted due to their high-profile status and perceived wealth. Mavericks star, Luka Doncic is the new name in the list of those players who have been burglary victims at their homes. According to the Dallas Morning News, Doncic’s home was messed up and it was broken on Friday night.

As per reports, Luka Doncic’s jewelry worth $30,000 has been stolen when he was not at his home. There are organised crime groups, who find players’ homes attractive targets. Same incident happened with many athletes in United States. It was an opportunity for these groups when Luka Doncic was outside of his house in Dallas.

“No one was home at the time, and thankfully Luka and his family are safe,” Doncic’s business manager Lara Beth Seager told the newspaper. “Luka has filed a police report, and an investigation is ongoing.”

As per the police investigation, an anonymous person reached Doncic’s master room by breaking the window. The incident happened between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. when the Mavericks was not at his home. Previously, NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow also have their homes burglarized. NBA players Bobby Portis and Mike Conley Jr have also faced the same in recent months.

The Mavericks are currently on a four-game road trip and they will come back to Dallas on New Year. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is out of the action due to a strained left calf. The NBA All-Star who distributed Go-karts to his colleagues on Christmas, suffered an injury on the same day against the Timberwolves.

ESPN reported that the FBI has connected these recent burglaries to “transnational South American Theft Groups”. These group are following modern techniques and technologies to complete the crime.
