It’s obvious to see heated moments on the basketball court but it became a big fight when the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns locked horns on Friday night. Their players got involved in a dustup, and three players faced ejection during the NBA game. Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic and Mavericks’ Naji Marshall got engaged in a verbal spat which eventually turned out in a physical brawl.

During the third quarter of the game, there was a stoppage in play with 9:02 remaining. Dallas Mavericks had a 60-44 lead in the game and the frustration on Phoenix Suns caused a big dispute in the game. Jusuf Nurkic walked up to Naji Marshall and the Suns’ center said something to the Mavericks forward. Marshall then walked toward Nurkic and put his hands on chest to keep him out of his privacy.

As we can see in the footage, Mavericks star got a clean straight right hand right on the chin of Nurkic. The 30-year-old responded and slapped the Marshall’s head. The fight heated up and Marshall threw a solid punch, which hit Nurkic’s left ear. The official came to stop the fight but PJ Washington also involved and stood against the Bosnian. Nurkic fell on the floor when the officials rushed in to stop the fight.

Players who were sitting on the bench was supposed to enter but coaching staffs controlled them. Fight continued off the ground as well when Marshall updated his profile banner on ‘X’ to a picture of the punch.

What sparked the Nurkic-Marshall feud?

As per the highlights, the incident started when Nurkic was called for an offensive foul after his left elbow connected with Daniel Gafford’s head and the Mavericks star fall on the ground. The 7-footer was not happy with the foul and walked to the other end of the floor. When Mavericks players were helping Gafford stand back up, the Suns center walking back toward Marshall.

Jusuf Nurkic, Naji Marshall and PJ Washington faced ejection immediately. There are certain chances that NBA will come out with punishment at the end of the night. They might face a ban including a fine for the violating the league rules. Meanwhile, Mavericks had the last laugh in the heated game of the day. Kyrie Irving scored 20 points for the Mavericks and Kevin Durant shined again with a game-high 35 points.
