Chelsea Aim To Complete Their European Trophy Collection Emulating West Ham's Conference League 2022-23 Win.
Chelsea are preparing to face Real Betis in the UEFA Europa Conference League final in Wrocław, Poland. The Blues now aim to etch their name in history by becoming the first club to win all four major UEFA competitions. Under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca, the Blues have shown resilience.
However, it won’t be easy against a Real Betis Side that’s being led by seasoned manager Manuel Pellegrini. They have experienced a remarkable transformation over the past decade. At such a time, Chelsea can look back to the 2022-23 UECL final when another Premier League team, West Ham United lifted the trophy.

In the 2022–23 season, West Ham United embarked on a memorable UEFA Europa Conference League campaign. Their journey began with a commanding 6-1 aggregate win over Danish side Viborg in the qualifying rounds. The Hammers continued their dominance in the group stage.
They secured six out of all of their six group matches against FCSB, Anderlecht, and Silkeborg. They progressed to the knockouts with a perfect score. In the knockout stages, West Ham showcased their prowess by defeating AEK Larnaca 6-0 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
This was then followed by a 5-2 aggregate win over Gent in the quarter-finals. A tense semi-final against AZ Alkmaar saw them advance with a 3-1 aggregate score. The final against Fiorentina in Prague was a thrilling encounter. Said Benrahma opened the scoring for West Ham with a penalty in the 62nd minute.

However, Giacomo Bonaventura equalized five minutes later. In the 90th minute, Jarrod Bowen latched onto a pass from Lucas Paqueta and scored the decisive goal, securing a 2-1 win for West Ham United. This win marked West Ham’s first major trophy since 1980 and their first European title since 1965.
Chelsea’s current form suggests that they are well-positioned to claim the Conference League title. With seven wins in their last eight matches and a talented squad the Blues have the capability to perform on big stages. Key players like Cole Palmer have been instrumental in their European campaign.

They’ve also secured a top-four Premier League finish and a spot in next season’s Champions League. Their journey to the Conference League final has been marked by dominant performances. This includes wins over Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw, and Djurgardens in the knockout stages.
However, Real Betis should not be underestimated. Despite being winless in their last five matches, they have lost only once in their last ten. Players like Isco and Antony have the potential to make significant impacts. Additionally, Pellegrini’s tactical acumen has always been a threat to any team.
Once known for their underdog status, the club has now achieved five consecutive European qualifications. This final marks their first-ever appearance in a European final. Despite a recent dip in form, Betis have shown resilience and will give a tough fight. Hence, Chelsea will look to seek inspiration from West Ham’s win.
