Paris St. Germain kept their fine form going as they beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the opening clash of Group B in the Club World Cup 2025. Luis Enrique after the French treble and the UCL 2025 win, has expressed immense confidence in his team following the win.

Getting their revenge on Atletico Madrid, Enrique’s side will go to the top of the group. With only one more game of the other two, the French side has taken a step toward the knockout stages of the tournament. The Spanish manager was seen pleased with his squad’s performance as they managed to keep Atletico at bay throughout the game.

Luis Enrique’s Praise for a Complete Team Performance

PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring for the French side in just under 20 minutes. Moreover, finishing the half strong, Portuguese International Vitinha doubled PSG’s lead going into half-time.

Reflecting on the squad’s performance and the games ahead, Spanish manager Enrique said:

“It was a very complete performance from the team today. We controlled the game from start to finish. The heat was a factor, but we adapted well and kept our focus.”

PSG’s young star Senny Mayulu scored the third goal for the Parisians. After scoring in the Champions League 2025 final, this is a second consecutive game. Applauding his young side of the squad and Mayulu, Enrique believes PSG are favourites to win the FIFA completion.

Talking further about the confidence in his young side, Enrique in his interview said:

Mayulu who started eight games in Ligue 1 2024/25 is having a breakout year under Enrique. With the 19-year-old scoring at the biggest stages already, Mayulu has a bright future ahead of him.

Vitinha who lit up the UCL for the Parisians emerged as the player of the match for PSG vs Atletico Madrid. Having scored the third goal, the 25-year-old showcased total control over the midfield throughout the game.
