“Wants to be a full time podcaster” – NBA fans react to Paul George’s “I am bored” comment after Pelicans vs 76ers

On Friday, Sixers lost to last-placed New Orleans Pelicans 123-115.

Sixers fans had high expectations when Paul George joined the Philadelphia 76ers from the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason. The addition of the nine-time All-Star was seen as the final piece to form a championship-contending duo alongside Joel Embiid. However, the season has been far from what fans had hoped for.

The dream of watching Embiid and George dismantling opponents has been an unfulfilled dream. So far, the two have only shared the court in 12 out of 36 games due to injuries and suspensions.

On Friday, the 76ers suffered another disappointing loss, falling to the last-placed New Orleans Pelicans 123-115. With the defeat, the Sixers now sit at 15-21 record.

Paul George’s “bored” comment sparks outrage

While Joel Embiid was once again sidelined, Paul George played 35 minutes, contributing with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in a losing cause.

However, it was his statement after the game that didn’t sit well with the Sixers fans.

When asked about defending opposing centers while playing small in Embiid’s absence, George didn’t hold back.

“It’s different,” George said. “I’m used to scrapping and running around, chasing, fighting through screens. To be honest, I’m bored. Playing on a five just doesn’t do enough for me.”

Social media were quick to call out the 34-year-old for his comment, with many fans expressing their frustration over his lack of enthusiasm for the defensive responsibilities.

“The difference between someone who loves the game and someone who’s just talented”, one fan commented.
