The USA President Donald Trump has confirmed that he will attend Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The announcement came shortly after FIFA revealed that they had opened a new office in Trump Tower, New York.

The United States is hosting the expanded Club World Cup for the first time. This is serving as a precursor to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the USA will co-host with Canada and Mexico. MetLife Stadium, which will stage Sunday’s final, is also the venue for the 2026 NFL championship match.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the collaboration. Infantino said, “We have received such a big support from the government and from the President with the White House Task Force for the FIFA Club World Cup and for the FIFA World Cup next year.”

Trump’s attendance comes amid discussions about his immigration policies and travel restrictions. These have raised questions about how this could impact the tournament next year. Infantino, however, assured fans that people from all people would receive warm welcomes to the USA.

Security and Broadcast Challenges Ahead of the Club World Cup Final

Broadcasters, including global streamer DAZN and the Club World Cup’s USA partner TNT Sports, will also face decisions on how prominently to feature the President during the live coverage of the game.
