Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen Headline UFC Fight Night 262 - Start Time and Where To watch

The UFC comes back to Vancouver for the seventh time as Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen headline UFC Fight Night 262 at Rogers Arena. The last time it was there was in June 2023. The card also features a co-main event between Mike Malott and Kevin Holland, while Manon Fiorot faces Jasmine Jasudavicius and Marlon Vera meets Aiemann Zahabi in the other bouts.

De Ridder vs. Allen brings together two elite grapplers with very different striking approaches. Brendan Allen (25-7), the orthodox fighter, has built strong experience against southpaws and uses his jab effectively in open stance. His time with striking coach Henri Hooft and now under Mike Valle at VFS Academy has made him far more dangerous on his feet. Allen’s jab often opens space for heavy rear kicks, and combinations can pressure his opponents.

Reinier de Ridder (21-2), known as “The Dutch Knight,” is a tall and crafty southpaw with a grappling base in judo. Though his striking was once questioned, he has developed a clean jab and a smart use of front teeps and knees. Since joining Sanford MMA, de Ridder has also improved his wrestling, chaining between single and double legs while relying on his length to smother opponents on the mat.

Both fighters excel in transitions and submission setups, so positional control may determine the winner. Allen’s improving top pressure and submission instincts will be tested against de Ridder’s leverage and defensive awareness. This middleweight clash promises to be measured, but patience and ground intelligence could make all the difference.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
