Perhaps the most controversial bout of the night was newcomer Torrez Finney’s split decision win over Robert Valentin. While Finney used his wrestling to control positions, many fans criticized the lack of damage inflicted during his control time. Judge Tony Weeks inexplicably scored the fight 30-27 for Valentin, while the other two judges saw it 29-28 for Finney. Loma Lookboonmee extended her winning streak to four with a hard-fought decision over Istela Nunes. Victor Henry emerged victorious after a 3- round battle against Pedro Falcao. Heavyweight Martin Buday picked up his sixth UFC victory by outpointing short-notice replacement Uran Satybaldiev.

The night opened with a dominant grappling performance from BJJ world champion Talita Alencar, who controlled Vanessa Demopoulos for three rounds to earn a lopsided unanimous decision in her sophomore UFC appearance.
