UFC 311 Main Card Results

The lightweight champ put on a masterclass against short-notice replacement Renato Moicano, securing a dominant first-round submission victory through his signature submission skills (D’Arce Choke).

Even with Moicano stepping in for the injured Arman Tsarukyan, Makhachev proved that the lightweight throne isn’t up for grabs anytime soon. He has now broken the record for the most title defenses in lightweight division.

The co-main event gave fans an absolute war between bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili and the previously undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov. These guys pushed a pace that would make marathon runners jealous.

While Nurmagomedov started strong with his diverse striking, Dvalishvili’s infamous cardio eventually took over. The Georgian ‘Machine’ kept coming forward like a terminator, especially in those championship rounds. Finally, Dvalishvili’s relentless pressure earned him a well-deserved unanimous decision.

The main card was stacked with action from top to bottom. Former light heavyweight champ Jiri Prochazka got a TKO win over Jamahal Hill in a wild third-round finish. He knocked him down two times before. These two threw bombs at each other for nearly 15 minutes, with Hill even hurting Prochazka to the body in the second round. But the Czech samurai found his mark in the third, dropping Hill and unleashing a barrage that forced the ref to step in.

The heavyweight division got a shake-up thanks to Jailton Almeida’s first-round TKO over Serghei Spivac. These big boys didn’t waste time feeling each other out. Just when it looked like we were heading to round two, Almeida landed a nasty uppercut and finished the job on the ground with seconds to spare.

Reinier de Ridder made everyone sit up and take notice in his fight against Kevin Holland. The Dutch submission specialist needed just over three minutes to take Holland’s back and lock in a rear-naked choke.

UFC 311 Prelims Result

Turning to the prelims, fans got to see some exciting fights and some hype trains derailed. Speaking of derailing hype trains, Raoni Barcelos put on a clinic against the previously undefeated prospect Payton Talbott. The scorecards didn’t lie with their 30-27s, and one judge even saw it 30-26, showing just how one-sided this matchup turned out to be.

Newcomer Azamat Bekoev made quite the entrance to the UFC with a thunderous first-round knockout of Zachary Reese just three minutes into the fight. In the light heavyweight division, Bogdan Guskov showed off his submission skills by catching Billy Elekana in a slick guillotine choke midway through the second round. Grant Dawson continued his winning ways with a dominant decision over Diego Ferreira

UFC 311 Early Prelims Results

The early prelims kicked off with some thrilling action, too. Tagir Ulanbekov and Clayton Carpenter went to war in a flyweight battle that had fans on their feet. Ulanbekov’s superior grappling earned him a unanimous decision. Benardo Sopaj got the decision win against Ricky Turcois. Muin Gafurov dominated Rinya Nakamura for three rounds in what turned out to be a striking masterclass.

The women’s bantamweight division saw some fireworks when Ailin Perez faced off against Karol Rosa. Perez’s improved striking was on full display as she picked apart Rosa over three rounds, getting the decision win.

These preliminary fights really set the tone for what would become an incredible night of fights at the Intuit Dome. From technical battles to explosive finishes, UFC 311 had it all. The mix of veterans and rising stars, combined with the high-stakes championship bouts, gave fans a fight card that will be talked about for months to come!
