Third Successful Title Defence For Sami Zayn, Defeats Je’Von Evans to Retain His WWE United States Championship

Sami Zayn is proving himself a fighting champion as he defeated yet another opponent on Friday Night SmackDown. With this victory, he has successfully defended his title in three consecutive episodes of WWE SmackDown. He retained his title against John Cena via DQ when Brock Lesnar attacked both of them. Sami Zayn has defeated Rey Fenix, Carmelo Hayes, and Je’Von Evans ever since.

Sami Zayn has been throwing open challenges on Friday Night SmackDown and defending his title against the challenger. Rey Fenix was the first one to accept the open challenge, while Carmelo Hayes challenged Sami Zayn last week. Je’Von Evans was the third challenger to accept the open challenge, and Sami Zayn successfully defended his title against all three of them, keeping his reign intact for 28 days.

Je’Von Evans Loses The Match But Wins Sami Zayn’s Respect

Sami Zayn defeated Je’Von Evans but had to fight hard for the victory. Je’Von Evans is known for his agility and high risk maneuver that help him overpower superstar with big bodies. He dominated Sami Zayn tonight and it felt the latter lost control of the match. Je’Von Evans was countering most of Sami Zayn’s move without breaking a sweat and was fluently attacking Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn however just needed to connect one Helluva Kick and Je’Von Evans knew it far too well. It seemed that Je’Von Evans studied Sami Zayn but its not easy to keep Sami Zayn down. Even big names in WWE have found it hard to keep him down. Sami Zayn finally connected Helluva Kick and followed it up with a Bluethunder Bomb to put Je’Von Evans down for good.

Sami Zayn won the match but then hugged Je’Von Evans and raised his hand to praise him in front of the crowd. Je’Von Evans will compete against Josh Briggs tonight at NXT No Mercy.
