Stephen Curry wins All-Star duel with Damian Lillard, joins Michael Jordan and LeBron James with historic performance

It was the longest 30-point streak for Stephen Curry since Dec. 2021.

Golden State Warriors guard, Stephen Curry scored 38 points in his team’s 125-111 win over the Bucks in Milwaukee on Monday. The veteran guard highlighted his fourth straight 30-point performance and Golden State won their second consecutive game.

Curry scored in double figures in three of the four quarters and created another record with his season-high performance. The 11-time All-Star joins the elite company of LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Karl Malone as the only players to record four straight 30-point outings at the age of 36 or older.

The Warriors guard had a tough fight with Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard, who also scored 38 points. Steph Curry scored 11 points and three 3-pointers in the opening quarter. Both Lillard and Curry recorded in double-figure in the third quarter.

Stephen Curry tallied 38 points, six rebounds and 4 assists while shooting 12-24 from the floor and 6-for-16 from 3-point range. He also got a good support from the newly acquired Jimmy Butler, who scored 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals in his second game for the Warriors.

Jimmy Butler has attempted 28 free throws over his first two games and set a new franchise record. No player has attempted 13-plus free throws in straight games for the Warriors since Kevin Durant in 2018.

Stephen Curry set new franchise record

It was the longest 30-point streak for Stephen Curry since Dec. 2021. It was the same season when he won the fourth NBA Championship for the Warriors and also became the NBA MVP.

Stephen Curry also became the first player in franchise history to reach 1,000 regular-season games. He also has four straight games with 6-plus threes, tying the NBA record for most such streaks in a career.

Stephen Curry and Co. are on a two-game winning streak since the inclusion of Jimmy Butler. Warriors will take on the Dallas Mavericks next on Feb. 12. Jonathan Kuminga is also recovering fast so we can see a strong roaster for Steve Kerr in the long sprint for the playoffs.
