Shedeur Sanders vs. Cam Ward—who's winning the draft war?
Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are gearing up for the 2025 NFL Draft, and the competition is already heating up. The two quarterbacks, expected to be the first off the board, were recently seen in a training session that turned into a full-on battle for ball security. A clip shared by Well Off Media, a brand linked to Deion Sanders Jr., shows them going at it, trying to rip the football away from each other.

It’s friendly, but let’s not pretend this doesn’t mean something. These guys know what’s at stake. Every move matters with the draft just months away.
Shedeur Sanders is a pocket passer. He’s calculated, accurate, and reads defenses like a seasoned vet. His numbers don’t lie—4,134 passing yards, 41 total touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a ridiculous 74.0% completion rate in 2024. He cleaned up on awards too: Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, CSN first-team All-American.

Cam Ward is different. He’s a gunslinger. Huge arm, aggressive playstyle, and mobility that keeps defenses guessing. He put up 4,313 passing yards, 43 total touchdowns, just seven interceptions, and a 67.2% completion rate. He walked away with the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, ACC Player of the Year, and CSN second-team All-American honors.
Both are franchise quarterbacks. The debate is about what a team wants—Sanders’ precision or Ward’s explosiveness.
Mock drafts are already calling it. PFSN’s seven-round mock draft has Cam Ward going No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans. Shedeur Sanders follows at No. 2 to the Cleveland Browns.
NFL analyst Chad Reuter has a slightly different projection. He believes the New York Giants, desperate for a quarterback, will take Sanders at No. 3.
“As the son of Coach Prime, Sanders has lived in the spotlight his entire life. So I don’t think the New York stage will be too big for him.” Reuter wrote.
Either way, both quarterbacks are going to define the next decade of the NFL. The question isn’t if they go early. It’s which team is about to change their entire future.

I write about sports because, well, it brings in the big bucks! I’m not some lifelong analyst or stats guru, truth being told, you’ve probably never heard of me!—I just know how to research, write, and make things sound good. That’s the job!
Got into sports media the same way most people do: by (fortunate) accident. Started with SEO writing, took on a few sports gigs, and now here we are! I cover games, trades, player drama—whatever needs words.
Favorite part? The chaos. One day it’s a blockbuster trade, the next it’s a goat running onto the field. Never boring.
Message to readers: If you want deep analysis, there are people for that. If you want sharp, no-BS writing that actually makes sense, stick around.
