Inter Miami could be set for a major coup as the MLS side are in advanced talks to sign Spanish full-back Sergio Reguilon on a free transfer. The 28-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur in July after his contract expired. Despite multiple offers on the table from England and Spain, he is expected to choose Inter Miami as his next destination.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the developments on social media. Reguilon brings plenty of top-flight experience, having played 73 games for the North London club. He also enjoyed loan spells at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford. Known for his energy and attacking runs from left-back, he would add both depth and quality to a Miami side already stacked with star names.

Sergio Reguilon has been out of the spotlight for a while now. After starting his career at Real Madrid with plenty of promise, the left-back went on short loan spells at Logrones and Sevilla before settling into the Premier League. Last season, he featured only six times for Tottenham, starting just twice. Still, Reguilon was front and centre during Spurs’ Europa League celebrations, despite not playing a single minute in the competition.

With the MLS regular season ending October 19, Miami have already secured their place in the Eastern Conference play-offs, sitting fourth in the standings with 56 points. If the deal goes through in time, Reguilon could bolster their defensive ranks for the postseason campaign. The left-back would join forces with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez. Despite limited game time last season, at just 28, Sergio Reguilon still has plenty of prime years ahead of him. As a result, it could turn out to be a shrewd signing for the Herons.
