Panthers' goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky reached another milestone last night
In the 2024 NHL Eastern Conference final rematch, Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves in the 3-1 Panthers’ win against the Rangers to get his 400th career win.
With that win, Bobrovsky became the fastest goaltender to get 400 career wins surpassing Henrik Lundqvist with 707 games to do so.
Lundqvist, who was in the building last night, got to 400 wins in 727 games.
“The moments when you put the gear on and go out and play in the NHL, that’s so special,” Bobrovsky said to NHL.com. “Not many people can go through that. I appreciate that and value that. I want to be in my best possible shape to take the best out of it. It’s all little pieces. I’ve been long enough in hockey, in professional sport, so I’ve got my preparation. I’m still developing, and I still enjoy the game like a little kid.”
Sergei Bobrovsky becomes the 14th goalie in NHL history to reach that mark and only the 4th undrafted to do so. He joins Ed Belfour, Curtis Joseph and Tony Esposito.
Despite being on a four-game winning streak and six-game point streak, the Rangers couldn’t find the back of the net.
Only Alexis Lafreniere scored, and the overall performance of Peter Laviolette’s team wasn’t just good enough. They simply couldn’t take advantage of power play opportunities finishing 0-for-4 on those situations.
