Sami Zayn injury Update: What happened to Sami Zayn at the 2025 Elimination Chamber?

Sami Zayn was part of the most brutal match of his career against Kevin Owens. Both these superstars were hellbent on ending each other’s career. It all started when Kevin Owens delivered a Package Piledriver to Sami Zayn. Sami Zayn, in a video from his X handle, warned Kevin Owens that he would be coming for him. Kevin Owens asked him to meet at the Elimination Chamber, and Sami Zayn agreed.

RAW’s General manager denied the match but agreed to an unofficial, unsactioned match when Sami Zayn forced him. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens got their hands on each other today, and they seemed thirsty for each other’s blood. Such was the brutality of the match that at one point, the referee, officials, commentators, and the fans, all wanted the match to be over.

What happened to Sami Zayn?

Sami Zayn received brutal injuries all over his body at the hands of his former-friend-turned-foe, Kevin Owens. An already injured Sami Zayn was holding his neck, and his arms were going numb during the match. Wounds on his back were apparent during the match. Michael Cole confirmed on Raw on March 03, 2025, that Sami Zayn has reaggravated his Neck Injury, the nerve issue, and the spinal issue after the punishment he received from Kevin Owens. He has received brutal injuries to his neck and his entire body.

Sami Zayn went through numerous tables, received chair shots, and was manhandled by Kevin Owens. The match ended when Kevin Owens wrapped a chair around Sami’s Neck and pushed him twice on the ring post. He followed it up with two brutal Power Bombs on the ring apron. The officials took Sami Zayn out as Kevin was going to assault him after the match as well.

When will Sami Zayn be back?

Sami Zayn might be out of WWE indefinitely. The extent of the injuries he received are enough to end one’s career. His fans know that he is a fighting spirit, but everyone has a breaking point. It felt like he reached his breaking point during the match. WWE has not officially made a statement about his return, but these brutal injuries will keep him out of WWE for a long period.
