Russell Wilson silenced all doubts on Sunday with a stellar performance that showcased why he’s one of the best to ever play the game. In a heated matchup against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, Wilson threw for 414 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a thrilling 44-38 victory.

“It was fun. We just had a great time,” Wilson said post-game. “We knew it was a matchup. We knew it was going to be a heavyweight fight.”
This performance marked Wilson’s season-high for passing yards and the third time in his career he surpassed 400 yards in a single game. His best remains the 452 yards he threw for Seattle against Houston back on October 29, 2017.
Wilson’s accuracy was sharp, completing 29 of his 38 attempts, even as he overcame a first-quarter interception that was returned for a touchdown.
The victory boosts the Steelers to a 9-3 record, rebounding from a tough 24-19 loss to the Cleveland Browns on November 21. With Russell Wilson at the helm, Pittsburgh is now 5-1 in games he has started, solidifying his role as the team’s QB1 amid what had been a lingering quarterback debate with Justin Fields earlier in the season.

This game was crucial for the Steelers’ playoff hopes. The offense clicked when it mattered most, with Wilson finding his groove and elevating his supporting cast.
Kirk Cousins leads the pack in passing yards this season, thanks to his phenomenal 509-yard game in Week 5 against Tampa Bay. That game not only earned him NFC Player of the Week honors but also showcased his ability to shred defenses.

Cousins has consistently delivered standout performances, making him one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the league this year.
Joe Burrow ranks second in single-game passing yards this season, with 428 yards in a November 7 showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, according to StatMuse. However, despite throwing three touchdowns in that game, including a massive 264-yard performance by Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals came up short in a 35-34 loss.

I write about sports because, well, it brings in the big bucks! I’m not some lifelong analyst or stats guru, truth being told, you’ve probably never heard of me!—I just know how to research, write, and make things sound good. That’s the job!
Got into sports media the same way most people do: by (fortunate) accident. Started with SEO writing, took on a few sports gigs, and now here we are! I cover games, trades, player drama—whatever needs words.
Favorite part? The chaos. One day it’s a blockbuster trade, the next it’s a goat running onto the field. Never boring.
