Learn All About What Happened When Rusev Fought His Fought His First Match at Monday Night Raw Since His Return.
Rusev has officially wrestled his first match in WWE since he made his return post WrestleMania 41. He faced off against Otis of The Alpha Academy and obliterated them as part of his first match on Monday Night Raw last night.
Rusev re-debuted in WWE on the Raw after WrestleMania. He viciously attacked The American Alpha during their tag team match against the New Day. He has since then stated that he will correct everything wrong in WWE by force. This led to his first official match against the Alpha Academy, notably on Monday Night Raw. However, what happened when these two finally locked horns inside the ring?

Rusev faced his first opponent in the WWE in the form of Otis on Monday Night Raw last night. Otis was notably accompanied by his Alpha Academy teammates Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri (via WWE on YouTube).
The battle was an one-sided affair as Rusev used a lariat, spinning heel kick to bring him down. However, Otis brought the fight to Rusev by suplexing him on the announce desk (via WWE on Twitter)-

Even that was not enough to stop Rusev’s momentum. Once inside the ring, Rusev brought Otis down with his Machka Kick and finally applied his finisher “The Accolade”. This submission move proved to be enough for Otis and he tapped out. Rusev has gained victory in his first official WWE match in five years.
Rusev’s actions, however, did not end even after his win against Otis. Akira Tozawa stepped up to Rusev and challenged him on the spot. Rusev initially backed off, only to attack Akira Tozawa from behind. He picked Tozawa up and dropped him on top of Otis. Rusev then went on a rampage. He threw Otis into the post and then again on the opposite post. Rusev then brought back Otis inside the ring and delivered another Machka Kick to him. He once again applied The Accolade to Otis. This eventually led to Raw GM Adam Pearce and several other security guards forcing Rusev to let go of Otis. Rusev has finally successfully obliterated Alpha Academy.
It is no longer a hidden fact that the WWE is building Rusev to be a monster heel. Hopefully, the WWE creative team will make better use of him for the roster. It will be interesting to see Rusev go up against several wrestlers and deliver quality matches for the fans.
