Rey Mysterio is one of the most respected WWE legends. Every WWE superstar respects the LWO legend for what he has given to WWE. The former WWE champion has a long career studded with numerous accolades. The WWE Hall of Famer is in the closing phase of his career. He already announced that the 2025 Royal Rumble was his last Royal Rumble.

His run for the race of the Elimination Chamber ended after he lost his match against Logan Paul. He might call curtains on his pro wrestling career this year. He was a regular feature on Raw but has not had the best of time in WWE for long now. Firstly his son turned his heel on him and has been a heel ever since. He now received an injury on February 10, 2025.

What happened to Rey Mysterio?

Rey Mysterio was attacked by the New Day after he lost his Elimination Chamber Qualification match against Logan Paul. Rey Mysterio lost a hard-fought match against Logan Paul but his misery didn’t end there. New Day, who turned heel after completing their tenth anniversary, attacked him from behind. New Day and Rey Mysterio have been having a dispute ever since New Day blamed others for their problems after kicking Big E out.

New Day attacked Rey Mysterio brutally and delivered a chair shot to his leg when it was on the ring post. Rey could hardly move when LWO came to his aid. WWE has not yet commented on the nature of his injury, but it can be assumed that he sustained a leg injury. New Day targeted his leg by first striking it against the ring post, then delivering a chair shot on his leg.

When will Rey Mysterio be back?

Rey Mysterio will be out of WWE indefinitely as confirmed by Michael Cole during New Day’s match against LWO. His fans will have to wait for his return. It would be interesting to see his plan of action after his return, as he is in the final phase of his career.
