Chelsea Meet Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League Final As Enzo Maresca Faces the Media in Press Conference.

The stage is set for an interesting UEFA Conference League finals as Chelsea is ready to lock horns with Real Betis. Ahead of this crucial final, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca opened up about the game, his players, and his respect for Spanish boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Enzo had previously worked under Manuel Pellegrini and acknowledged the latter as his professional dad and is keen on meeting his mentor at the final in Wrocław.

Chelsea Ready to face Real Betis

The London Blues had a relatively okayish season where they managed to finish fourth in the Premier League. The Blues picked up 69 points from 38 games with 20 wins under their belt. Though they have made it to the Champions League for the next season, there is always a different feeling when a team plays a European Final.

“The mood is a good one. It’s a consequence from the last game but the final is completely different. It’s one game and anything can happen,” Enzo Maresca said at the pre-match press conference.

The Chelsea gaffer also opened up about his relationship with Manuel Pellegrini. He claimed to have met his mentor. “I just met him outside and all the staff. Some of the players I know for different reasons,” Enzo added.

Chelsea Ready to lift silverware

“I said a few times, for me, it was already a good season for different reasons and it can become a very good season if we finish top four or top five and win the final. The first target is there and hopefully we can achieve the second one,” he added.

The 45-year-old Italian manager made it clear that he and his side are ready to go all out for the title. He claimed that he wanted a top 4 finish in the league and is happy after having achieved that. Meanwhile, he claimed that it has been a tough job for him to convince his players that the Conference League is the best competition in the world.

“The most complicated thing about the Conference League has been to convince the players that for us it is the best competition in the world. The reason why is because it’s the competition we are in. We need to respect every team in Europe and every team we face. I am not focused on winning this competition because my name [goes down in history] but I will be happy for the club and for the fans,” he concluded.

After a disastrous season in the Premier League, English giants Manchester United have started to make big strides in the summer transfer market. According to reports, the Red Devils have agreed on a deal to sign Brazilian attacking midfielder Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Blues finished 15th in the league with 42 points from 38 games and only 11 wins in the entire campaign. In fact, it has been the worst finish for the club in the Premier League era. Now, the club is ready to make investments in their bid to contest a strong fight strongly next season.
