Quentin Halys vs. Miomir Kecmanovic Preview, Prediction and Betting Odds for the French Open 2025 Round 2

First-time clash sees Halys seek breakthrough, Kecmanovic eye consistency

Quentin Halys takes on Miomir Kecmanovic today in the second round of the 2025 Roland Garros. The Frenchman progressed after 21st seed Tomas Machac was forced to retire with a lower back injury during their first-set tiebreak. On the other side, Kecmanovic came through a grueling five-setter against Sebastian Baez, rallying from two sets down, both lost in tiebreakers, to claim a dramatic victory.

This marks the first-ever meeting between Halys and Kecmanovic. For Halys, it’s his best-ever run at Roland Garros, while the Serb reached the third round back in 2022. Even after turning pro in 2012, Halys is still chasing his first ATP title, though he’s claimed 12 titles at the Challenger and ITF levels. Kecmanovic, meanwhile, already has two ATP trophies to his name, including a title in Delray Beach earlier this year.

Let’s dive into how both players have shaped up this season.

Quentin Halys vs. Miomir Kecmanovic Preview

Halys, ranked No. 52, hasn’t found much rhythm this season, failing to move past the round of 16 in most events. His standout performance came in Dubai, where he stunned Andrey Rublev, Roberto Bautista Agut, and Luca Nardi to reach the semifinals before falling to Felix Auger-Aliassime.

With a 7-10 record, Halys’ stats show a strong serve, 212 aces and 78% first-serve points won, but his struggles lie in return and conversion, winning just 24% of first-serve return points and converting 31% of break points.

Kecmanovic, ranked No. 41, has had a mixed but productive year. He reached the semis in Adelaide, won both singles and doubles titles in Delray Beach, and made deep runs at Challenger events in Cap Cana and Estoril.

In Delray singles, he edged out Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in three sets and in doubles, he and Brandon Nakashima beat Evan King and Christian Harrison in straight sets. His 13-13 record includes 126 aces, a 73% first-serve win rate, and a more efficient 40% break point conversion.

Quentin Halys vs. Miomir Kecmanovic Head-to-Head Record

Quentin Halys and Miomir Kecmanovic have not played each other yet, which makes this an interesting match as both players look to change things up in between finding solutions on the go.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
