Carlos Alcaraz vs. Fabian Marozsan Head to Head, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for French Open 2025 Second Round

Devavrat Kulkarni

Alcaraz will look to make light work of Marozsan in today's second round clash

The defending champion Carlos Alcaraz continues his quest for a second consecutive title in Paris as he takes on Fabian Marozsan in his second-round clash today on court Philippe-Chatrier. Alcaraz is coming off an easy win in the first round against Giulio Zeppieri, and the same can be said of Marozsan, who dispatched Luca Nardi in straight sets as well.

The winner of this match will book a place in the third round, where they will take on France’s very own Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Damir Dzumhur from Bosnia.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabian Marozsan Preview

The defending champion, Alcaraz, is currently enjoying a purple patch of form on the clay courts. After winning the Monte-Carlo Masters, he lost in the final of Barcelona to Holger Rune, but bounced back wonderfully in Rome to edge out local favorite Jannik Sinner for the Italian Open title.

On clay this year, Alcaraz has excellent numbers, which include 81% service games won, 67% break points saved, and 48% break points converted. He has also won nearly 40% of return games.

Hungary’s Marozsan, on the other hand, has had quality wins on this surface in 2025 at the BMW Open, where he reached the semi-final, and the Italian Open, where he reached the round of 16 after defeating Andrey Rublev in the previous round.

Marozsan has put up a clinical performance on serve during the clay season with 35 aces, 71% first serve points won, and 82% service games won. He has also converted 41% of his break points, but it is the return games won where he has struggled with just 22%.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabian Marozsan Head-to-Head Record

Alcaraz and Marozsan have faced off twice prior to their meeting in Paris today. The newly formed rivalry between the pair stands at 1-1, with the Hungarian winning the pair’s first meeting at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome in 2023, and the Spaniard taking the second match in 2024 at Indian Wells. Incidentally, it is Marozsan who has won their only prior meeting on clay.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabian Marozsan French Open 2025 Prediction

The Hungarian has the game to play well on this surface, but Roland Garros is a completely different ball game. Despite having won their previous meeting on clay, Marozsan just doesn’t have the quality to go up against the world number 2 in a best of 5 sets match. Expect Alcaraz to dominate this one from the start and put it away quickly.

Prediction: Alcaraz in straight sets

After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
