Novak Djokovic managed to break his losing streak against Alejandro Tabilo in the Round of 16 here in Athens. The 38-year-old produced a fighting performance to win 7-6(3) 6-1. Having reached the semifinals at all four majors in 2025, Djokovic has made it clear that his main priority is winning the big events. He also reached the Miami Open final, and recently finished as a semifinalist in Shanghai. With a championship run at Geneva added to the mix, the top seed has a winning ratio of 77% this year.
Nuno Borges has been hovering around the Top-50 ranking for a while now. The Portuguese sensation began the season with a semifinal finish at Auckland, before reaching three consecutive Round of 16s in February. He made a quarterfinal each on clay and grass, before returning to form at the Shanghai Masters – where he was a pre-quarterfinalist. Currently ranked No. 47 in the world, Borges has a win-loss record of 31-30 in the 2025 campaign.

The head-to-head record between Djokovic and Borges is currently 0-0. After wins over Sakellaridis and Spizzirri, the Portuguese No. 1 will look to cause a major upset on Thursday.

The longevity of Djokovic is clearly visible in the fact that he continues to win a high percentage of 20+ shot rallies. Against Borges, the 24-time Grand Slam champion is likely to bring in some variations to disrupt the rhythm of his opponent. In all of his recent losses, Djokovic has succumbed to the pressure once his counterparts serve big and back it up with groundstroke depth. Unfortunately, we believe Borges lacks the weapons and the belief to overpower someone like Nole at the moment.
Prediction: Novak Djokovic in three sets.
Djokovic is the favorite (1/8) and Borges is the underdog (5/1) in the ATP Hellenic Championship 2025 quarterfinal. According to the implied probability on the money line, the former World No. 1 is likely to win in straight sets (80%). Take a look at the list of betting odds (as per BetMGM):
