Noche UFC 3 Results Last Night: Diego Lopes Decimates Jean Silva; Santiago Luna Impresses In Debut!

Zaid Quraishi

Saturday night fights hit differently when the UFC rolled into Texas. The Lone Star State has a special relationship with combat sports that goes back generations. The Frost Bank Center in San Antonio buzzed with that familiar energy that only comes when Mexican Independence Day met elite level MMA. Noche UFC 3 told the story of another successful celebration that had fans on their feet from start to finish.

Noche UFC has become one of the most anticipated events on the UFC calendar since its inception. The third annual celebration of Mexican heritage and fighting spirit delivered everything fans could want from a fight card. The atmosphere felt electric from the moment doors opened, with traditional mariachi music mixing with the usual pre-fight hype videos.

Noche UFC 3 Main Card Results

Diego Lopes (27-7) proved why he belongs among the featherweight elite with a brutal second-round TKO victory over Jean Silva in the main event. The Brazilian showed his versatility by dominating the first round on the ground before adapting to Silva’s aggressive striking in the second. When Silva kept hunting for a spinning back elbow throughout the fight, Lopes eventually beat him to the punch with the same technique. The irony was perfect: Silva got finished by the exact move he had been attempting all night long. The finish came at 4:48 as Lopes immediately pounced and pounded out the finish.

David Martinez gave the Mexican crowd exactly what they wanted with a unanimous decision victory over Rob Font in a three-round war. The bantamweight slugfest featured non-stop action with both men throwing heavy leather for fifteen straight minutes. Martinez landed the more significant shots throughout and even scored a knockdown late in the fight that sent the arena into absolute chaos.

Rafa Garcia continued the Mexican success story with a third-round TKO finish over Jared Gordon after two rounds of brutal exchanges. The lightweights beat each other senseless before Garcia finally landed the right hand that opened the door to the finish. Kelvin Gastelum survived a tough test against Dustin Stoltzfus despite missing weight by a significant margin. Alexander Hernandez stayed hot with another TKO victory, this time stopping Diego Ferreira in the second round with a perfectly timed right hand.

Santiago Luna opened the main card in spectacular fashion. He knocked out Quang Le in the first round after surviving early trouble. The 21 year old prospect showed tremendous heart by fighting back from adversity to score a comeback knockout that had the crowd losing their minds.

Noche UFC 3 Preliminary Card Results

The early fights delivered solid action with Dusko Todorovic submitting Jose Medina via rear naked choke. Joaquim Silva edged Claudio Puelles in a close split decision. Former title challenger Tatiana Suarez defeated Amanda Lemos by unanimous decision in a grappling-heavy affair.

Jesus Aguilar outpointed Luis Gurule, while Alden Coria impressed in his debut with a third-round TKO of Alessandro Costa. Montse Rendon started the Mexican success with a split decision over Alice Pereira. To start the event, Daniil Donchenko won against  Rodrigo Sezinando via first round finish.
