Nobody Was There to Congratulate Me and I Liked It: Gunther Reveals His Experience after Winning WWE Heavyweight Title

Ashish Negi

Jey Uso loses his WWE Heavyweight championship to Gunther.

On Monday Night Raw after Money in the Bank, Gunther redeemed himself when he defeated Jey Uso and won the WWE Heavyweight Championship. He etched his name in the history book when he defeated a fan favorite but injured Jey Uso. The former WWE Heavyweight Champion fought and fought hard, even though he wasn’t 100% when he entered the ring. Gunther targeted the injured ribs of Jey Uso during the entirety of the match.

Jey Uso injured his ribs, all thanks to the constant assault he received while helping his friends. Jey Uso, who has been bringing the Yeet waves everywhere he goes, rose to the top of WWE after making Gunther tap out at WrestleMania. A former champion with zero haters was, however, too good to be a champion, as his goodness cost him the championship after 51 days.

Gunther Had a Strong Message For All WWE Superstars

Gunther, while in a podcast with Fanatics, revealed that nobody was there to hug or congratulate him when he won, as everybody left. He revealed that if other wrestlers win something, everybody is there to congratulate them, but that’s not the case after his victory. He said he liked it because he is not in WWE to make friends. He claimed his few friends and great family are all he needs.

Jey Uso’s popularity and his relationship with other superstars in the locker room must be the reason that no one was happy when Gunther beat him. Gunther entered the ring with just one mission, and that was to regain his championship, and he was ready to go lengths to achieve it. He targeted Jey Uso where it would hurt him more, and while Jey Uso was not ready to give up, his body did, and he faded into the Sleeperhold.

Gunther’s victory might feel merciless to others, but it wasn’t unfair. His brutal ways to target the injured ribs must be part of the reason no one congratulated him and left. Given, Gunther has been a champion for 80% of his time in WWE, he was desperate to get his WWE Heavyweight title. Desperate times call for Desperate measures, and it was a need of the hour for Gunther to take every possible advantage if he wanted his title back.
