Nicolas Jackson Transfer News: Bayern Munich Agree Loan Deal With Chelsea

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson on loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season. The deal includes a sizeable loan fee and brings a conclusion to one of the most talked-about moves of the summer.

Bayern were initially silent about their interest, but quickly emerged as frontrunners. The reigning Bundesliga champions have now secured the striker’s signature. According to Fabrizio Romano, the German side will pay Chelsea €15m as a loan fee alone, while also covering Jackson’s £100,000-per-week wages in full.

Jackson Could Become Chelsea’s Second Most Expensive Sale

Jackson joined Chelsea in 2023 and played a pivotal role for the Blues last season, starting 28 of his 30 Premier League appearances. He contributed 10 goals and five assists as Enzo Maresca’s side secured a fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification. Across all competitions, he has scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists in 81 appearances.

While he has shown flashes of promise, his tendency to miss big chances raised doubts over his long-term role as Chelsea’s first-choice forward. Those concerns only grew this summer as the Blues recruited Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and Joao Pedro from Brighton. Notably, both new signings have already impressed at Chelsea.

The option to buy is reported to be set at €65m, with the total package potentially rising to €80m when the loan fee is included. If Bayern activate the clause, Jackson would become Chelsea’s second most expensive sale in history, behind only Eden Hazard’s 2019 transfer to Real Madrid.
