Nico Hulkenberg's milestone in Formula 1 was celebrated by his daughter
Lando Norris won the British Grand Prix 2025 at the Silverstone Circuit. But it wasn’t the Papaya Briton who claimed the fame yesterday. All eyes in the Formula 1 paddock were on a green Sauber racing towards the finish line. Behind the Sauber was 13 time podium winner of the British GP, Lewis Hamilton. However, Nico Hulkenberg, the driver of the Sauber had never won a podium in his career let alone the British GP.
In a race where conditions were tricky enough to take out 5 cars, Hulkenberg drove from P19 to P3 to claim his first F1 podium. Hulkenberg was being relentlessly pursued by Lewis Hamilton. The Briton was pressuring the Sauber in a much faster Ferrari throughout the last laps. However, Hulk held in and faced the pressure valiantly. He did not commit a single mistake on the wet and treacherous track to hold on to his podium. The joy among his fans was best portrayed by someone special.
During his post-race interview, an ecstatic Hulkenberg was quick to mention his family. The German was talking about his family and celebrating with him. He was greeted to grand welcome in the Sauber garage. Little did he know, that is family was celebrating more than any fan of his. The Hulk’s wife and daughter could not visit the paddock for the British GP but that did not stop them from making their presence known.
A few hours after his podium winning race a video was released by the F1 official on their social media. In the video a little girl was cheering and dancing when Hulkenberg appeared on the podium.

She was Nico Hulkeberg’s daughter Noemi. Little Noemi reached out her hand to touch her father on the television screen when he pointed to the camera as he lifted his trophy. His wife was also goading her from behind watching in delight.
Noemi Sky Hulkenberg is daughter of Nico Hulkenberg and his wife, Egle. She was born in 2021 six months after Hulkenberg married Egle. Nico Hulkenberg was not racing in Formula 1 at the time of her birth. However, he soon rejoined as full-time driver in 2023. Hulkenberg’s drive earned him the Driver of the Day Award yesterday during the British GP.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
