Previewing the Game Handicap, Set-Wise Betting & Recent Form ahead of Kyrgios v Kovacevic.
Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios makes his highly anticipated singles return against Aleksandar Kovacevic of USA in the Brisbane International 2026 on Tuesday. The Pat Rafter Arena will play host to this Round of 32 match-up between two fierce ball strikers. The Australian entertainer already got his season up and running with a doubles victory alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis. He will be keen on getting some vital game time ahead of the Australian Open later this month.

Currently ranked No. 670 in the world, Kyrgios’ last appearance was at the Miami Open last year. While he isn’t coming in with the strongest momentum, the serve machine has seven titles to back up his career-high World No. 13 ranking. Standing across the net, will be 27-year-old Kovacevic. The American is enjoying his best phase inside the Top-60, and will be searching for his 30th tour-level victory against Kyrgios.
According to the tennis betting odds, Aleksandar Kovacevic is the favorite to win this match against a rusty Nick Kyrgios. Kovacevic has been given favorable odds of -150 in the pre-match market. On the other hand, Kyrgios is an underdog with odds of +120, via BetMGM. Here’s how we are betting on Nick Kyrgios vs Aleksandar Kovacevic at the Brisbane International 2026, including our best bets, supporting odds and a set-score prop for bigger prices.

Our Pick: Nick Kyrgios +1.5 Sets @ -230
For the first time in nine months, Kyrgios will be featuring in men’s singles action on the tour. The 30-year-old veteran may have found a way to win the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ exhibition last week, but competitive matches are a different ball game altogether. Moreover, Kovacevic made some improvements on serve last year. The World No. 58 won 83% service games and saved 62% break points faced.
Kovacevic entered the main draw of his five most recent tournaments, coming through qualifying in two of these events. This includes a pre-quarterfinal showing at the Stockholm Open where he was defeated by Lorenzo Sonego. However, his weak return statistics could be exploited by Kyrgios. The Aussie has a booming first serve which averages a speed of over 180 km/h, giving him a service game success rate of nearly 90% across his career.
Considering all the variables, we believe the lack of match practice could go against Nick Kyrgios under the sultry conditions in Brisbane. But if he comes out with the right attitude and finds his strike zone early on, he is more than capable of toppling the odds. As of now, Kyrgios +1.5 sets at -230 seems appropriate.
