NHL Awards List of Winners – Connor Hellebuyck Takes Home the Vezina and Hart Memorial Trophies

The NHL season is almost over, yet there is still plenty to rejoice about for hockey lovers. The 2025 Stanley Cup Finals Game 4 just concluded, and the Oilers head back to Edmonton with a 2-2 series tie. While that series is captivating NHL fans, the league has continued to announce the winners of this season’s most prestigious awards.

Winnipeg Jets’ goaltender, Connor Hellebuyck, is the talk of the town after winning two distinguished awards. Hellebuyck won the Vezina Trophy for the second year running and with it also took home the NHL’s most valuable player award, the Hart Memorial Trophy.

Which Players Bagged the Coveted NHL Awards This Year?

As mentioned previously, Connor Hellebuyck secured two of the awards this year, but several other players had outstanding seasons as well, and their contributions didn’t go unnoticed, with the league honoring them for their excellent performances throughout the season. Here are the winners of all the awards for the 2024-25 NHL season.

Hart Memorial Trophy – Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets

The Hart Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who was the most valuable player for their team. In that sense, the Hart Memorial Trophy goes to the MVP of the league. He became just the fourth goalie to win this award in the expansion era.

Hellebuyck’s amazing season saw him win 47 regular-season games and led the league in GAA (2.00) and shutouts (8). The Jets’ goalie secured a grand total of 1,346 points, including 81 first-place votes.

Vezina Trophy – Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets

The Vezina Trophy is awarded to the league’s best goaltender. This is Hellebuyck’s second consecutive Vezina Trophy win, and the third of his career thus far. He joins a rare company of players to have won both the Hart Memorial and the Vezina in the same season.

He topped the list with 158 points and received 31 first-place votes, while the only other first-place vote went to Andrei Vasilevsky of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ted Lindsay Award – Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay Lightning

The Ted Lindsay Award is given to the most outstanding player, as per the votes of the Players Association. Kucherov has won this award for the second time in his career, after 2019 when he bagged it for the first time. The forward finished atop the leaderboard in points with 121 this season and was the joint leader in assists with 84.

James Norris Memorial Trophy – Cale Makar – Colorado Avalanche

This trophy goes to the best defender in the league, and this year’s winner is Colorado Avalanche defender Cale Makar. This is the second time he has won the James Norris Memorial Trophy. Makar earned 1,864 points with 176 first-placed votes.

Frank J. Selke Trophy – Aleksander Barkov – Florida Panthers

The Frank J. Selke Trophy is given to the forward who demonstrates the best skills on the defensive side of the game. This is Barkov’s third Selke Trophy of his career, making him one of the league’s greatest two-way players.

Calder Memorial Trophy – Lane Hutson – Montreal Canadiens

The Calder Memorial Trophy goes to the league’s best rookie of the season. Canadiens’ defender Lane Hutson had a tremendous season, leading all rookies with 66 points. He secured 1,832 points from the voting system that included 165 first-placed votes.

Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy – Sean Monahan – Columbus Blue Jackets

The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy goes to the player who demonstrates top qualities on the ice, such as perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. Sean Monahan of the Columbus Blue Jackets took home the prize this year.

Lady Byng Trophy – Anze Kopitar – Los Angeles Kings

The Lady Byng Trophy is handed out to the player who best exhibits qualities such as sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct, as well as superior playing ability. Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings was named the winner for this year.

Jack Adams Award – Spencer Carbery – Washington Capitals

This award is for the best coach in the league. Capitals’ coach Spencer Carbery won the award after coaching his team to the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference in just his second season in charge.
