Kellen Moore will stay longer in New Orleans after his Super Bowl victory
The New Orleans Saints have finalized a deal to appoint Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their new head coach, marking a significant shift in the franchise’s leadership.
At 36, Moore becomes the youngest head coach in Saints history, bringing with him a reputation for innovative offensive strategies.

Moore’s coaching journey began after his playing career as a quarterback at Boise State and subsequent tenure in the NFL. Transitioning to coaching, he served as the quarterbacks coach and later offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. His offensive acumen led him to the Los Angeles Chargers and then to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played a pivotal role in their recent Super Bowl victory.
The Saints’ decision to hire Kellen Moore concludes a comprehensive search that included candidates such as New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. Moore’s selection is seen as a high-reward move, aiming to revitalize the team’s offensive dynamics.
Moore’s immediate focus will be on assembling his coaching staff.
Speculation suggests potential appointments like Doug Nussmeier as offensive coordinator and Brandon Staley as defensive coordinator, both of whom have prior working relationships with Moore.
The Saints are coming off a challenging season, finishing with a 5–12 record and missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. The organization is optimistic that Moore’s innovative approach and leadership will usher in a new era of success.
