Evan Mobley
Evan Mobley is an American professional basketball player born on June 18, 2001, in San Diego, California. He plays as a power forward/center for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Mobley played college basketball for the USC Trojans. On April 16, 2021, he declared for the 2021 NBA draft, foregoing his remaining college eligibility, and was selected by the Cavaliers as the third overall pick. Since joining the NBA, Mobley has proven to be an elite defensive player and a key piece for the Cavaliers. In the 2024-25 season, he was named an All-Star for the first time and was also voted the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. He was also included in the All-NBA Second Team in 2025 and twice in the NBA All-Defensive First Team (2023, 2025). In his debut season (2021-22), he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. His brothers, Isaiah Mobley and Eric Mobley, also play basketball. Isaiah Mobley was selected by the Cavaliers as the 49th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, playing alongside his brother. His father, Eric Mobley, was hired as an assistant basketball coach at USC in 2018.
