Nashville strengthens its roster by calling up forward Kieffer Bellows and defenseman Jake Livingstone ahead of their next matchup.
The Nashville Predators have called up forward Kieffer Bellows and defenseman Jake Livingstone from their AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. This move fills their active roster as they prepare to take on the Colorado Avalanche.
Bellows, 27, was once considered a promising prospect when he was drafted 19th overall by the Islanders in 2016. However, he never quite secured a top role in the NHL, instead playing in a bottom-six position for the Islanders and Flyers between 2019 and 2023. Across 95 NHL games, he tallied 14 goals and 14 assists.
After bouncing between teams, Bellows spent last season on a minor-league deal with the Toronto Marlies, where he had a breakout year with 49 points in 52 games. That performance earned him a two-way contract with the Predators. Although he was briefly recalled in January, he didn’t see any game action before returning to Milwaukee. This season, his scoring has dipped, but he still ranks third on the Admirals with 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 41 games. He now joins Nashville as extra forward depth, with injuries affecting players like Zachary L’Heureux and Luke Evangelista.

Livingstone, 25, is getting his first NHL call-up in nearly two years. He signed with Nashville as an undrafted free agent in 2023 after a strong college career at Minnesota State. Though he showed offensive potential in college, he has focused more on his defensive play in the AHL, registering 26 points and a +27 rating in 108 games. He previously played five games for the Predators at the end of the 2022-23 season, where he recorded one assist and averaged just over 15 minutes of ice time per game.
With Adam Wilsby dealing with an upper-body injury, Livingstone adds depth to the blue line. His strong two-way game could help stabilize the defense as Nashville returns to action. Both Bellows and Livingstone will look to make an impact if allowed to play.
