Osaka is searching for her first title in 2025.
Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka takes on the unseeded Leolia Jeanjean on super Saturday in the 2025 L’Open 35 in Saint-Malo, France. The semifinal encounter will feature two players with partially contrasting journeys to this stage of the tournament. Osaka is searching for some clay court momentum as she heads to Paris for Roland Garros very soon. The Japanese sensation is yet to win a Grand Slam title since 2021.
Naomi Osaka’s 2025 season has not gone to plan. However, the 27-year-old has done remarkably well, considering she has returned after giving birth. She started the year well by reaching the final in Auckland and Round-3 at the Australian Open. She also reached the Round of 16 in Miami. The four-time Grand Slam champion has beaten Marcinko, Parry and Jacquemot to get to this stage of the competition.

Ranked No. 107 in the world, Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean is yet to break into the WTA Top-100 in her career. The 29-year-old reached the quarterfinals in Copa Colsanitas last month, and has continued the rich vein of form at the French event this week. Interestingly, Jeanjean’s best Grand Slam result has come on this surface. She defeated Boisson, Dolehide and Ferro en route to the semifinals.
The head to head record between Naomi Osaka and Leolia Jeanjean is 0-0. Saturday’s semifinal will be the first meeting between the two players.
