“You Have To Beat Me First” Movsar Evloev Calls Out Yair Rodriguez and Jean Silva

Eric Divakaran

Movsar Evloev, an unbeaten powerhouse from Russia, is carving his path to greatness in UFC Featherweight division. He’s a standout in Greco-Roman wrestling, and started his MMA career in 2014, claiming the Global Bantamweight belt before stepping into the UFC spotlight in 2019. Since then, he’s been unstoppable, stacking up nine straight victories against some of the elite fighters like Aljamain Sterling, Arnold Allen, Dan Ige, Diego Lopez and more.

Sitting at 4th in the featherweight rankings, all Evloev has done is win in his entire MMA career. However, in nearly 7 years into his UFC career, Evloev has never stopped his opponents completely, and that has set some doubts in many fans and analysts’ minds. In his 9 UFC fights so far, Evloev has suffocated his opponents with grappling and won via decision every single time. While some may try to criticize what he’s done so far in his UFC career, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski said that he would love to take him on for the next fight and take that zero away from Evloev’s record.

Movsar Evloev’s Challenge to Yair Rodriguez and Jean Silva

Movsar Evloev, an undefeated UFC featherweight contender with a stellar record of 19-0-0, has issued a bold statement to fellow fighters Yair Rodriguez and Jean Silva. His message was straightforward; if they want a shot at the featherweight title, they’ll have to go through him first. This challenge postions Evloev as sort of a key gatekeeper in the division, where he’s asserting his dominance and staking his claim as a top contender.

Yair Rodriguez, a former interim titleholder known for his dynamic striking, and Jean Silva, is an emerging talent with five straight UFC finishes, are both in the mix for a championship opportunity. Evloev’s callout is a strategic move, most likely in response to their ambitions of taking on and calling out Volkanovski earlier.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
