Since lifting her two singles titles, she hasn’t advanced past the round of 16, falling in Miami and Stuttgart before being upset by Coco Gauff in the Madrid quarterfinals.

Arango, on the other hand, has had a rocky 2025 season. She grabbed headlines with a WTA Challenger title in Cancun and a runner-up finish at the Merida Open in March, though that run ended harshly with a double bagel loss to Emma Navarro. That final marked just her fourth career WTA quarterfinal since turning pro in 2018. Outside of those highlights, she’s struggled to break past the round of 32.
